"Behaviour cannot be looked at in isolation" : AEP General Secretary features in Tes article on pupil behaviour

04/05/2023

Yesterday, Tes published an article exploring evidence on how best to approach pupil behaviour and how policy can be reformed to take on board these approaches.

AEP General Secretary, Cath Lowther was interviewed for the article, alongside school leaders and other experts. Cath's ideas and experiences - and the work of Educational Psychologists more broadly - help to shape some of the key arguments in the article. You can read the article in full by clicking the link.

Educational psychologists would promote a relational approach to behaviour management in schools. That approach centres on staff learning about that young person, learning what makes them tick and building a relationship with that young person”

‘Educational psychologists need to be much more involved in informing government policies around behaviour, around mental health, around education reform."
