REMINDER!

MEMBER SURVEY,  “TRANSFORMING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S MENTAL HEALTH PROVISION”

PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE EP VOICE IS HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR IN RESPONSES TO THIS CONSULTATION

Further to emails sent out last week, this is a reminder that the AEP’s member survey on the Government’s consultation on “Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental health Provision” will close in one week.

The consultation on the Green Paper is extremely important given the level of public concern re the mental health of CYP in the UK today and also in relation to the role and work of educational psychologists in supporting and promoting good mental health.

The response to the consultation will help to inform the development of Government policy in this area in the future. In order to ensure that the EP voice is heard we will be submitting an official response on behalf of our members. We would be very grateful if you could help to inform this by completing the AEP’s member survey before midday on Monday 5 February. We will then use these responses to develop the AEP’s official response to the Government’s consultation.

In order to help to raise the profile of the work that EPs carry out in schools and other settings it would be very helpful if individual AEP members and EP teams/services also responded to the consultation, which can be found here. Please also discuss the Green Paper with the schools and settings in which you work and encourage them to respond to the consultation and promote the role of EPs within the field of mental health in education.

We will endeavour to publish headlines from responses to our survey during the week of February 19-23 which you may wish to consider when completing your own responses. Please note that the AEP’s survey questions do not correspond directly with the consultation questions
