For our Specialist Senior EP and Senior Practitioner EP’s, we offer opportunities to apply psychology at a wider systems level. Therefore, we are looking for applicants who have experience of leading psychological initiatives at this level, as well as having experience in leading and supervising psychologists and other professionals.

Solihull Educational Psychology Service is a friendly and highly supportive service where collaboration and peer supervision is truly valued.

Our role as EPs in Solihull takes us into exciting, applied psychology territory with schools, families and the wider community. We are proud of our strong links with colleagues across the local authority, schools and health.

Children’s Services are top priority in our Council Plan. In Solihull, you can be part of a team of professionals who truly value the transformative power of psychology, applied research and professional practice that promotes creativity.

You will be given the autonomy and time to undertake project work to develop your expertise in your own area of professional interest within applied psychology.

We recognise the need to maintain our strong and supportive team relationships in an increasingly agile working environment by promoting regular quality supervision and team meetings.

We enjoy close relationships with local and national educational psychology training courses and genuinely value purposeful CPD and the promotion of research in practice, demonstrated by our clear commitment to whole service CPD and protected personal CPD time.

You will need an Honours degree in Psychology (or equivalent) recognised by the British Psychological Society, recognised postgraduate training and a qualification in Educational Psychology. You must also be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. However, in the case of trainee EPs, you will be expecting to have your registration confirmed following the successful completion of your qualification in September 2026/ 2027.

To the best of our knowledge, the adverts on this website are ‘legal, decent, honest and truthful’. Except where otherwise stated, all posts carry a salary that is at or above the nationally agreed Soulbury minimum for the post. Members should assure themselves that they are satisfied with the terms and conditions offered. Members are advised to consider fully the implications of successful applications particularly in relation to posts which would entail a move outside the UK, where legislation and cultural issues in other countries should be considered in relation to their personal circumstances. “From time to time, the AEP will carry adverts for agencies supplying EPs to local authorities. Where this is the case, we will have secured agreement from the agency that they will not supply EPs to those authorities we remain in dispute with.
