A research team at the University of Oxford’s Department of Education has been granted £2.55 million in funding to analyse the consequences of school exclusions across the UK. The four-year project will include researchers across Reading, the London School of Economics, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast. The research will aim to develop a “multi-disciplinary understanding of the political economies and consequences of school exclusion” and examine the costs of rising levels of exclusions for individuals, institutions and the wider education sector.
