Care Leavers

Ahead of National Care Leavers Week next week, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has announced new support for young people leaving the care system alongside £19 million of investment into programmes that work with care leavers. This includes £10 million to create stable homes for leavers; £6 million to support young people leaving care live independently and £3 million to help them go into further education. In addition to this, Gavin Williamson has also committed to delivering 1,000 internships for care leavers over the next two years to help them secure stable employment.
