HCPC – time for renewal of your registration, declaration of professional indemnity arrangements and possible CPD audit
Please note that all practitioner psychologists will need to renew their HCPC registration between March 1st and May 31st this year. You will shortly receive a reminder to renew directly from the HCPC. The cost of registration is £180 for two years (£90 if you are newly qualified) which may be reclaimable from your employer and is tax deductible if you can’t reclaim it.
As part of the re-registration process you will be asked to make a declaration that you have professional indemnity arrangements in place at an appropriate level – if you are employed then your employer should provide this for you – if you carry out any work in a self-employed capacity you will need to arrange cover for that work yourself https://www.hcpc-uk.org/registration/your-registration/legal-guidelines/professional-indemnity/
2.5% of all practitioner psychologists will also be selected for a CPD audit https://www.hcpc-uk.org/cpd/ Examples of completed submissions for previous CPD auditsby AEP members are available ( CPD Profile 1, CPD Profile 2, CPD Profile 3)*.
You can find out more about the examples you can provide about CPD activities here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1MPtG4lbK0&feature=youtu.be
NB *We would welcome any further examples from members who might be prepared to share their submission from the 2019 audit which could be included in an anonymised manner on the AEP website to help other members – please send to firstname.lastname@example.org with “HCPC CPD audit examples” in the title line.
