The AEP has become aware that, particularly in the light of Covid-19, this year’s deadline of November 18th for applications may disadvantage some prospective applicants who will not learn whether or not they have secured eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society before that date. . Therefore, the decision has been made to move the deadlines to 1st December (references) and 2nd December for their application to the 2021-2024 programme to be considered.
Further accommodations have also been agreed whereby the Clearing House run by the Association of Educational Psychologists will accept applications from candidates who will not receive their results by late December if they list a provisional grade and are then able to confirm this by Monday 4th January 2021.
In parallel to advising the Association of the degree classification awarded, it will be the responsibility of the candidate to forward this information to each of the universities to which application has been made, no later than Monday 4th January 2021.
Whether applications for which only a provisional grade can be listed prior to the application deadline are then accepted, will remain at the discretion of individual universities, which are under tight time pressures to process very large numbers of applications within a short time frame.
