Apply Here

Are you an Educational Psychologist (EP) looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, young people, and families, both individually and systemically? North Yorkshire Council’s Educational Psychology Service is expanding, making this an exciting time to join a forward-thinking and highly valued team.

Our service is committed to continuous growth, enabling us to deliver a broad, creative, and effective psychological offer. We are seeking innovative psychologists who are passionate about shaping service delivery and working within systemic, values-driven frameworks. This role provides an opportunity to influence positive outcomes and contribute to a service that improves lives across North Yorkshire.

About the Role
As an Educational Psychologist, you will join our central team and work within a locality alongside a multi-agency network of professionals. A core part of the role involves working collaboratively with schools and clusters to support early intervention, aligned with the emerging Experts at Hand approach.

Our developing service offers the flexibility to work creatively and systemically, contributing to a range of impactful projects. These include work linked to the Best Start in Life strategy, supporting military families, addressing children missing education (including EBSA), and facilitating effective transitions. We prioritise innovation and provide dedicated service development time alongside continuing professional development aligned with our vision.

Our overarching goal is to deliver a dynamic educational psychology service rooted in consultation, empowerment, and sustainability.

What You Will Bring

You will be a motivated and forward-thinking Educational Psychologist with the skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to apply psychological theory and practice to create positive change. You should hold a Master’s or Doctorate in Educational Psychology and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or be a Year 3 Trainee EP expecting registration upon qualification.

We welcome applications from psychologists at all stages of their careers, including those qualifying in September 2027. A commitment to collaborative working, reflective practice, and continuous learning is essential.

Why Join Us?
We offer a supportive and inclusive working environment, alongside a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • A friendly, experienced team with diverse interests
  • Strong commitment to continuing professional development
  • Protected time for supervision, peer support, and wellbeing
  • Generous annual leave (up to 34 days)
