Join Blackpool Educational Psychology Service – Make a Difference Where It Matters
Due to the expansion of Blackpool EPS, we are recruiting full-time and part-time Educational Psychologists. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive team in a town undergoing significant regeneration and investment.
Why Blackpool?
Blackpool is a vibrant seaside town with a strong sense of community and a diverse range of needs. It’s home to iconic landmarks like Blackpool Tower and the Winter Gardens, and offers easily commutable settings and a close-knit professional network. The Local Authority is deeply committed to improving outcomes for children and families, making it a rewarding place to work.
About Blackpool EPS
We are a warm, collaborative service that prioritizes emotional health and wellbeing. Our team is highly valued across the wider SEND and Children’s Services teams, with direct communication lines to senior management. This ensures Educational Psychologists are involved in key decisions and can influence systemic change.
Our philosophy aligns with Blackpool Families Rock—focusing on relationships and strengths to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people. We emphasize early intervention, with most work completed pre-statutory, allowing for thorough assessments and robust EHC plans.
Our Model
We operate a mixed model of core and traded time. Core time, based on pupil premium and free school meals, enables EPs to build strong relationships with SENCOs and school communities. Our preventative approach ensures efficient, impactful work with children and families.
Career Development
We welcome applications from trainees, newly qualified, and experienced EPs. We offer career progression opportunities, including management roles and specialisms in Early Years, Post-16 transitions, social care, training, and more. Whether you're starting out or seeking a new challenge, Blackpool EPS supports your growth.
