An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Educational Psychologist, or a third-year Trainee Educational Psychologist, to join our strengths-based Educational Psychology Service (EPS). The successful applicant will undertake a varied and meaningful workload in addition to core statutory duties.
At Bracknell Forest, we pride ourselves on being a council which is stable and well-managed where our employees can thrive in a supportive environment. We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and offer a variety of flexible working practices, including options for remote working and arrangements that allow you to work from home, dependent on the needs of the service.
About you…
We are looking for an Educational Psychologist who is enthusiastic about applying psychology to make a meaningful difference for children, young people and their families. In this role, you will help shape our new core service delivery offer, ensuring it is both evidence based and impactful. Alongside this, you will deliver a traded service to education settings, commissioned work (Early Help, Virtual School and Children’s Social Care) and lead on projects such as ELSA, PINS and our parent/carer helpline.
About the team…
The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is a small, highly skilled team of Educational Psychologists who work collaboratively with children, young people, their families and other professionals across a range of settings. We apply psychology to bring about positive change, support progress in learning and enhance emotional wellbeing.
Educational Psychologists (EPs) in Bracknell Forest pride themselves on being inclusive, person-centred and trauma informed. We provide a balanced workload to all our team members - Seniors, EPs, and Trainees - and offer opportunities to develop or extend specialist interests and skills aligned with our service plan and the evolving needs of the wider organisation. We have regular face to face team meetings in our central Bracknell office in addition to regular peer supervision and continuous professional development opportunities. We actively encourage collaborative working with fellow Educational Psychologists and colleagues across the local authority.
Key responsibilities…
Applicants must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or, in the case of trainee EP’s, expecting to have their registration confirmed following the completion of their recognised training course.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
