Peterborough City Council - Senior Educational Psychologist & Educational Psychologists

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior EP and EPs to join our friendly and dynamic EPS in Peterborough City Council.

About our service:

  • The team is well regarded within the LA and other stakeholders, and is well placed within the SEN and Inclusion Service.
  • We are building capacity in the service to meet demand and pioneer innovative practices in the LA.
  • The EPS prioritises protected delivery of traded services for all non-statutory work including systemic work, training, action research projects and exciting opportunities to develop expertise across a broad range of work. We have an established consultation model of service delivery that values the application of psychology, innovative practice, professional integrity and provides variety in the work of our EPs. Early intervention is a core focus of the service, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and improving outcomes for children and young people. It is also planned that the EPS will have a wider role in universal and targeted services. This will be facilitated by building capacity within the service, and the LA continuing to support the use of external Educational Psychologists to complete EHCNAs to ensure the service does not have a waiting list and maintains positive relationships with our stakeholders.
  • All EPs are involved in our accredited ELSA programme for which we have been awarded the ELSA Quality Mark. The EPS is introducing a MeLSA training and supervision program.
  • Peterborough EPS prioritises CPD to promote up-to-date professional practice of a high standard.  We maintain strong links with universities. The service support career progression in the service.
  • We have an open access service for parents/carers and young people, including bookable community consultations.

Peterborough City Council offer:

  • Generous Soulbury pay scale ranges.
  • An Employee Benefits Scheme.
  • Family friendly policies including a flexible working hours scheme which allows for the ability to accrue 8 hours of flexi-time per month (FTE).

  • A relocation package, as per policy.
  • The EPS supports agile working through full IT provision and modern office accommodation.
  • Good rail links to London (only 45 minutes) and other major cities.

To the best of our knowledge, the adverts on this website are ‘legal, decent, honest and truthful’. Except where otherwise stated, all posts carry a salary that is at or above the nationally agreed Soulbury minimum for the post. Members should assure themselves that they are satisfied with the terms and conditions offered. Members are advised to consider fully the implications of successful applications particularly in relation to posts which would entail a move outside the UK, where legislation and cultural issues in other countries should be considered in relation to their personal circumstances. “From time to time, the AEP will carry adverts for agencies supplying EPs to local authorities. Where this is the case, we will have secured agreement from the agency that they will not supply EPs to those authorities we remain in dispute with.
