We’re looking for passionate and experienced Senior Educational Psychologists Educational Psychologists and to join our Educational Psychology Service and help us deliver high-quality, equitable support to children and young people aged 0–25.

This is an opportunity to do more than assess needs. You’ll work alongside schools, families, professionals and partner agencies to understand barriers, develop effective strategies and use psychology to create positive, lasting change.

The Role

As an Educational Psychologist, you’ll provide psychological consultation, assessment, advice and intervention across schools, early years settings and other services. You’ll work directly with children, young people and families while helping schools build their capacity to support the full range of learners.

You’ll also contribute to training, specialist SEN practice, SEND policy and service development, research and critical incident response.

As a Senior Educational Psychologist, you’ll build on this professional expertise to take a leading role in developing people, practice and services. Working alongside the Principal Educational Psychologist, you’ll contribute to service leadership, quality assurance, workforce development and the implementation of local and national SEND priorities, including the 2026 SEND reforms.

You’ll supervise and support EPs and Assistant EPs, lead areas of specialist practice, contribute to statutory SEND functions and help strengthen partnership working across education, health and care.

About You

For the Educational Psychologist role, you’ll need HCPC registration (or evidence that registration is being sought for new entrants), a Psychology degree and an appropriate postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology. You’ll bring knowledge of psychological approaches, SEND legislation and safeguarding, alongside experience working with children and young people and a range of SEN needs.

For the Senior Educational Psychologist role, you’ll need substantial post-qualification experience as an EP, including supervision, service development and leadership of areas of practice, alongside strong knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusion and applied psychology within a local authority context.
