Join our brand-new Educational Psychology department in Children’s Services at the Isle of Wight Council, we need qualified professionals like YOU to lead the way!

This is an amazing opportunity to develop a new educational psychology service, with systems and structures that underpin a child and young person-centred approach, with specific focus on

  • trauma and attachment, actual practice in schools and services
  • developing new provisions to support with high anxiety and mental health
  • understanding the causes of emotional based school avoidance
  • developing approaches to support emotional based school avoidance
  • understanding root causes of suspensions and exclusions
  • supporting with social, emotions and mental health (SEMH)
  • gathering the children and young people’s ‘voice’ (using Lundy Model et al)
  • engaging with our ‘Elective Home Education’ community
  • support the ‘Ordinarily Available Provision’ guidance, materials and practice within classrooms

Salary: Soulbury Scale: B16-18: £76,154 to £ 78,900 per annum plus up to three SPA points (existing points will be honoured)

Location: County Hall (Newport) and Agile (working from home) - Travel is an aspect to the role.
