ROYAL BOROUGH OF GREENWICH - CHILDREN’S SERVICES

The Royal Greenwich Educational Psychology & Wellbeing Service (EP&WS) has recently expanded and are offering the opportunity for reflective and resourceful educational psychologists (EPs) to support our hard-working, friendly and ambitious team of EPs, assistant EPs, EPs in training, counsellors, restorative approaches facilitators and business support staff.

At Royal Greenwich, you will be working alongside colleagues who ensure that the best interests of children and young people are at the heart of what they do. Our recent Area SEND Inspection noted “Professionals regularly go the extra mile to make sure that children and young people’s needs are met effectively.” (https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/44/80495

Our flourishing traded service offers the security and benefits of working for a LA, alongside opportunities to deliver a wide range of preventive work, projects and training. The EPWS promotes a consultation model of service delivery, whilst valuing and respecting diversity in approaches.  We promote child and family-centred practice and work creatively to develop bespoke intervention plans. There are opportunities to become involved in projects, including: ELSA, MeLSA, VIG, multi-family groups, training/supervision/coaching programmes, and organisational consultancy.

The EPWS plays a key role in the local partnership wellbeing strategy. We hold dedicated specialist roles working with the:

  • Virtual School
  • ASD Outreach
  • Early Years Inclusion Service
  • Inclusion Service
  • Youth Justice Service
  • Family Hubs (offering interventions to support parent-infant relationships).

As a member of the team, you will benefit from:

  • A supportive senior leadership team committed to the wellbeing of staff, promoting an inclusive working environment and strong commitment to anti-racism.
  • Excellent administrative support.
  • A whole-service CPD programme, alongside time for individual CPD.
  • Protected time for project and innovation work.
  • Protected time for clinical supervision (individual and group) which is separate to line management.
  • Excellent transport links
  • Remote/hybrid working and IT equipment to support.
  • HCPC fees reimbursed.

We would like to invite applicants who:

  • Can apply psychology in a range of settings, within the context of a consultation model of service delivery.
  • Value working relationships with colleagues within the team, across Children’s Services and within settings.
  • Are committed to child and family-centred approaches.
  • Share our commitment to anti-racist practice.

Applications are welcome from experienced and recently qualified EPs, and those in year 2 and 3 of training.

Essential professional qualifications include:

Postgraduate qualification and professional training in educational psychology, to enable registration with the HCPC as an Educational Psychologist.
