This day is led by Dr Dan O’Hare, an experienced EP with a strong media profile, including work with the BBC, The Guardian, Sky News and Al Jazeera, this workshop focuses on the skills that matter most in real-world media contexts.
This practical CPD is designed for psychologists who want to engage with the media confidently and effectively.
Psychologists are increasingly being asked to comment publicly on complex and sensitive issues, from children’s mental health to education, social issues and family life. Yet most have had no training in how to communicate their expertise under the fast-paced, high-pressure conditions of media work.
Participants will learn how to translate complex psychological knowledge into clear, accessible messages, respond to challenging questions, and navigate ethical responsibilities when speaking publicly.
The session is highly practical, with opportunities to take part in realistic mock TV and radio interviews and receive structured feedback.
This is essential training for any psychologist who wants to contribute to public conversations in a way that is accurate, responsible and impactful while protecting both their professional integrity and the people they represent.
