We are looking for creative and enthusiastic Educational Psychologists to become members of our friendly and supportive team.  Waltham Forest EPS encourages collaborative and flexible working, and is committed to developing EPs professional skills, whilst prioritising professional wellbeing.

Waltham Forest EPS is part of a successful traded business unit within the Local Authority. We provide varied opportunities and quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to develop areas of special interest.

The London Borough of Waltham Forest offers permanent staff a recruitment and retention bonus of £2000 paid annually in June and December.  New recruits joining us will receive £1000 on commencement and £1000 on successful completion of the first 12 months (pro rata).

Maingrade and Senior EP roles:
We are looking for Educational Psychologists to join our team who: 

  • Are excellent practitioners with good communication, interpersonal, organisation and time management skills.
  • Are reliable, flexible and able to show initiative.
  • Are committed to improving outcomes for children and young people in the local community.
  • Have a sound knowledge of evidenced based interventions.
  • Have professional Educational Psychology qualifications recognised by the BPS, have HCPC registration.  This post is subject to a DBS check.

Senior Educational Psychologists:
As a Senior EP you will have a key role in supporting the Principal Educational Psychologist.  You will work collaboratively as part of the senior leadership team to develop and support service delivery, strategic planning, and LA initiatives.

We are looking for Senior Educational Psychologists who can

  • Provide high quality supervision to an EP team (EPs, TEPs, Asst EPs) working in schools and settings.
  • Provide strategic support to Local Authority services (including Youth Justice Service, Virtual Schools, special schools).  
  • Support the delivery of programmes such as ELSA and commissioned project work.
  • Support the development of a community psychology service team.

You will have at least three years’ experience as a qualified Educational Psychologist and registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Applications from candidates who wish to work part-time are welcomed.
