PsyVIC group for EPs with a special interest in vision impairment and blindness

08/12/2026

PsyVIC group for EPs with a special interest in vision impairment and blindness.

The next meeting of the PsyVIC group will be on Tuesday 8th December from 1.30 pm to 4pm via MS Teams.

PsyVIC is a group of EPs with a special interest in vision impairment and blindness. The group has existed since the mid-1980s, and meetings are open to all EPs whether they have a specific role in their service in relation to sensory impairment, are linked to a VI specialist school, base or unit, have developed a specific interest in the area, or just currently have some ongoing relevant casework.

The first part of the meeting will focus on sharing any news, information about resources or other training opportunities, of sharing current or recent casework, as well as planning for future PsyVIC meetings and activities. For the second half of the meeting, Becky Clarke, will talk to us about her doctoral thesis research on experiences of specialist teachers and support staff in identifying any emotional wellbeing needs in children and young people with a visual impairment.

If you are interested in attending, please e-mail Simon Ungar at simon.ungar@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk to be added to the mailing list.
