We’re looking for an Educational Psychologist (Maternity Cover), Interested?

We are seeking to appoint a qualified main-grade Educational Psychologist to join our supportive and dynamic team to provide maternity cover. As a service we are committed to the application of solution-oriented approaches and evidence-based psychology to promote inclusion and achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. We have a central base in Gateshead and are also hybrid working.               

As an Educational Psychologist within the service, you deliver our Service Level Agreement, work into strategic projects within the service and contribute to the Statutory Needs Assessment of children and young people by providing effective, high quality and outcomes-based psychological advice. 

It is essential you have knowledge and understanding of current legislation and issues and experience of using applied psychology and evidence-based practice with children, young people and associated professionals. 
 
You will hold an Honours Degree in Psychology which provides eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Postgraduate training in Educational Psychology which is recognised by the Health Care Professions Council and HCPC registration are also essential.

You will hold a current driving licence and have access to a car or means to mobility support.

What’s in it for you? 

  • You’ll be paid a competitive salary £47,688 - £57,954 plus access to 3 SPA points.
    Previously awarded SPA Points will be considered, subject to approval.
  • You will receive an annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per year rising to 32, 2 of which may be fixed by the council at any time. You also have the chance to buy up to 10 additional holidays per year.
