Educational Psychologist – Join Our Team in Staffordshire

We’re excited to welcome enthusiastic and motivated Educational Psychologists to our creative, friendly, and supportive service. Following the retirement of valued colleagues, we have opportunities for new team members to help shape the future of educational psychology in Staffordshire.

Why Join Staffordshire EPS?

  • Children and families first: Our work is driven by improving lives through holistic, inclusive, and impactful support.
  • Innovative practice: We’re central to Staffordshire’s new Enhanced Assess-Plan-Do-Review (EAPDR) pathway, using psychology creatively and preventatively (e.g. MAPS, PATHS).
  • Nationally recognised impact: Be part of EP-led literacy and numeracy programmes, non-attendance projects, and joint work with the Virtual School for care-experienced children.
  • Supportive culture: Join a passionate team of EPs, Seniors, TEPs, and Assistants. Benefit from comprehensive induction, peer supervision, and two CPD weeks annually.
  • Professional development: Whether experienced or qualifying in September 2026, we will support your growth, specialisms, and SPA progression.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Soulbury A3–8 + up to 3 SPAs (progression supported).
  • Environment: Mixed urban/rural practice, essential car user allowance, mileage & travel time policy.
  • Growth: Protected supervision, CPD budget, development groups, and opportunities for specialism focus
  • Flexibility & wellbeing: Hybrid working, flexi-time, and proactive support from Seniors.
  • Inclusion: We welcome applications from under-represented groups and are committed to anti-discriminatory practice.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting schools via traded packages and EAPDR.
  • Supporting children and families in Early Years.
  • Contributing to EHC assessments.
  • Collaborating on research and service development.
  • Engaging in cross-LA projects (e.g., Trauma Informed, ELSA, Children’s Homes).
  • Participating in CPD and support team development.
  • Contributing to service initiatives (e.g. SCERTS, implementation science, equality and diversity).

Ideal Candidate

  • Honours degree in Psychology (BPS recognised).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
  • HCPC registration (or eligibility upon qualification).
  • Collaborative, evidence-informed practitioner who values consultation and prevention.

We also welcome applications from those qualifying in September 2026/7, and have short-term contracts available, including a 6-month maternity cover in Lichfield. Permanent roles are available in Lichfield Stafford and Newcastle.

‘I feel well supported by my team and supervisor, and really value working closely with others in the service on commissions and projects. I feel I can be flexible and creative in my work and that my supervisor will always have my back and support me to do so - which I really value!’  — Current Team Member, Service feedback May 2025
