If you’re looking to relocate to Somerset, we can offer a relocation allowance of up to £8,000. Somerset is special - with beautiful stretches of sandy coastline, caves, moors, the unique Somerset Levels, cool-list towns, the world’s largest green-field music festival and fantastic local produce. It's all here on your doorstep! Somerset enjoys good travel networks, with access to the rest of the country; London by train in less than 2 hours, and national and international flights to and from Bristol and Exeter airports, easily accessible from the M5 motorway.

Here’s what you’ll be doing...
It is an exciting time to be joining Somerset, we are a friendly and effective service, and we believe that ‘Change is possible’.

  • We have a PEP, and 6 Senior EPs leading this large EP service; we also have 4 Assistant EPs and a number of Trainee EPs.
  • The EP service is highly regarded within the local area. We have a central role in the integrated mental health offer, including the MH Support Teams, ELSA, and a focus on preventing exclusions, improving attendance through close partnership with local agencies and Locality teams. We also have key leadership and delivery roles within the Neurodevelopmental assessment pathways.
  • The EPS works with mainstream, special, and Partnership Schools. Our work includes systemic working, a well-established consultation process, supervision, and training. Trading with schools provides EPs with opportunities to work systemically and support prevention and early intervention.
  • Further examples of our work include project work for the local authority, support for schools and settings in managing Critical Incidents, support within Early Years, the Virtual School, and working in partnership with SEND practitioners. NB: The AEP abides by the Advertising Standards Agency Code; we believe all our adverts for vacancies appropriate for our members have been checked in accordance with this code, and AEP policy. To the best of our knowledge, the adverts on this website are ‘legal, decent, honest and truthful’. Except where otherwise stated, all posts carry a salary that is at or above the nationally agreed Soulbury minimum for the post. Members should assure themselves that they are satisfied with the terms and conditions offered. Members are advised to consider fully the implications of successful applications particularly in relation to posts which would entail a move outside the UK, where legislation and cultural issues in other countries should be considered in relation to their personal circumstances. “From time to time, the AEP will carry adverts for agencies supplying EPs to local authorities. Where this is the case, we will have secured agreement from the agency that they will not supply EPs to those authorities we remain in dispute with.
