Enfield Council - Educational Psychologist

Apply Here

Due to members of our current team being successful in securing senior posts in our service, alongside a thriving and developing traded service, Enfield Council is seeking to fill maingrade EP posts to join our friendly, dynamic and well-regarded Educational Psychology Service.

You will be joining a skilled and supportive team that is well-respected by schools and services across Enfield.  All EPs have a patch of schools where you can develop strong relationships and partnership working. We work closely with Our Voice, Enfield’s Parent-Carer Forum, to develop our coproduction.

You will benefit from a supportive senior leadership team, committed to supporting team belonging, wellbeing and work life balance.  We have a service-wide CPD programme providing ongoing training where we can learn, grow and reflect together. Peer and group supervision sessions take place alongside regular individual supervision. See what our team members say about working with Enfield EPS

We are supportive by a friendly and efficient business support team. We are based in an attractive and well-appointed central office base in Enfield Town. Free car parking provides easy access to the team base.  We have an attractive relocation package for eligible candidates.

We have a strong focus on emotional health and wellbeing, developing trauma informed and culturally responsive practice. The EPS takes a lead across several areas across the partnership such as trauma informed practice (ETIPSS), emotional based school non-attendance, autism and neurodiversity. Have a look at our website for further information.

We have a history of multi-agency working, and all of our EPs have opportunities to work within existing and/or new projects and services, and develop specialist interests. Current commissioned work includes: the Virtual School for LAC, CiN/CP; Youth Justice Service; Primary Behaviour Support Service (SWERRL), School Admissions Service; Mental Health Support Team; Enfield Advisory Service for Autism (EASA); ELSA; and MeLSA.

We want to represent the communities we serve, and we welcome applications from under-represented groups. You should hold a professional qualification in Educational Psychology and be registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist or be a Trainee EP in Year 2 or 3 of a recognised training course, ready to take up a qualified EP position in 2025 or 2026.

We are committed to safer recruitment and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. This post requires an enhanced DBS check with both adult and child barred lists.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Dr Arno Basson (Senior EP) or Dr Emma Gore Langton (Deputy Principal EP & Service Manager) on 020 8379 2000.

NB: The AEP abides by the Advertising Standards Agency Code; we believe all our adverts for vacancies appropriate for our members have been checked in accordance with this code, and AEP policy. To the best of our knowledge, the adverts on this website are ‘legal, decent, honest and truthful’. Except where otherwise stated, all posts carry a salary that is at or above the nationally agreed Soulbury minimum for the post. Members should assure themselves that they are satisfied with the terms and conditions offered. Members are advised to consider fully the implications of successful applications particularly in relation to posts which would entail a move outside the UK, where legislation and cultural issues in other countries should be considered in relation to their personal circumstances. “From time to time, the AEP will carry adverts for agencies supplying EPs to local authorities. Where this is the case, we will have secured agreement from the agency that they will not supply EPs to those authorities we remain in dispute with.
