Plymouth Learning Partnership (PLP): Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST)

Due to the expansion of our team, the MAST service in Plymouth is looking for a newly qualified, or more experienced, EP to join our friendly, innovative and supportive service.

Plymouth Learning Partnership (PLP) is a community interest company supported by its cross-phase member schools that provides school services across Plymouth and surrounding areas. The Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST) forms a key component of PLP services to schools as an early-help service for vulnerable children and families, providing an integrated response across primary and secondary education phases.

As an Educational Psychologist within our service you will be able to work differently to the experiences of many practitioners nationally. We do not engage in statutory report writing or assessment work: our foci is on helping children, young people and families through creative practice at the earliest possible stage. The role of the EP is central to the MAST team and you will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and work with a range of disciplines, and school partners, in co-constructing interventions where children and their progress is central to all we do.

So, if you are an HCPC-registered and fully qualified EP, we would love to hear from you. We are a highly valued service within Plymouth and neighbouring authorities and can offer a truly dynamic, creative and rewarding working life. We are seeking applicants who have excellent skills in applying Educational Psychology theory and practice to promote creative approaches to support schools and settings at the earliest possible stages.

The MAST service prides itself on its CPD offer to schools and our own staff. Of late we have provided professional development opportunities in Emotion Coaching, Outcomes Star, Trauma-informed practices, Emotional Logic, PACE, Whole School Behaviour Recovery and the Whole School Mental Health Chartermark. We also exclusively hold the school and post-16 licence for the delivery of the Neuroinclusive Education Network (NEN) training modules for Plymouth. This post would allow the opportunity for the successful applicant to support the evaluation and development of our CPD offer for schools and partners.

Working as an EP with us (PLP) offers:

  • A warm and supportive large multi-disciplinary team where EPs take a significant leadership role
  • A significant emphasis on preventative, systemic, interventionist practice
  • Regular CPD, peer supervision and reflective team support
  • Opportunities to develop special interests
  • Access to a local government pension scheme and mileage allowance
  • Flexible and smart working supported by all the necessary IT equipment you will need
  • Opportunity to progress to a Senior Educational Psychologist role within PLP (PLP grades 16/17: £58,426-£64,286)
  • Access to a relocation package (on request)
  • Industry leading annual leave allowance of 48 days (plus bank holidays) = 56 days.
