Haringey Council - Educational Psychologists

Apply Here

Haringey Educational Psychology Service is looking for skilled and motivated Educational Psychologists to join our supportive and forward-thinking service, sharing our commitment to inclusion, anti-racist practice and improving outcomes for children, young people and families across Haringey’s diverse borough.

This is an exciting time to join our growing service, playing an active role in influencing its future direction and contributing directly to the ongoing development and delivery of our Experts at Hand offer as we respond to the 2026 SEND reforms.

Our vision is children and young people at the centre of everything we do, and our mission is using psychology to enable positive changes for children and young people. We are a friendly and collaborative team committed to high-quality, evidence-based applied psychology.

The role offers a varied balance of statutory and non-statutory work, with scope to apply psychology at individual, group and systemic levels through consultation, assessment, intervention, research and evaluation, training and systemic work with settings.

Our work extends beyond traditional EP practice, with scope to contribute to forward-thinking and collaborative projects across Haringey. This includes Early Years and School age ELSA, Video Interaction Guidance (VIG), parenting and family work, therapeutic approaches, group supervisions, sleep consultations and being part of our ‘Waiting Well’ offer in partnership with CAMHS. EPs also work in partnership with Haringey’s Resettlement Team, supporting refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking families newly arrived in the borough. Innovation is central to how we work. We are making use of modern AI-enabled tools to streamline administrative tasks, allowing our Educational Psychologists to spend more time on the relational, creative and psychologically informed aspects of their role.

We encourage our EPs to develop their professional interests and contribute to the future development of the service. We have a strong commitment to professional development, including ongoing training, research, writing for publication and presenting at conferences, alongside close links with university training courses.

We are looking for reflective, well-organised and collaborative practitioners with excellent interpersonal skills who can build effective relationships with children and young people, families, schools and other professionals, and facilitate change across complex systems.

We welcome applications from experienced and newly qualified Educational Psychologists who are registered with the HCPC, as well as Year 3 trainee EPs completing their doctorate by September 2027. We support professional growth at every career stage through regular individual and peer supervision and collaborative learning as a service.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
