We are recruiting an Educational Psychologist (EP) to join our strong, highly regarded and supportive team of EPs.
The service is involved in a wide range of work and there are lots of exciting opportunities for EPs to apply psychology in creative ways to promote inclusion and positive outcomes for all children and young people. The service provides a substantial traded offer to local settings which is well received and continues to develop. It also leads on and contributes to a wide range of project and development work, such as ATTUNE our whole school trauma informed project, ELSA and the EBSNA pathway, as well as providing commissioned support to the multi-agency autism pathway, the youth justice service and the virtual school. The role of EPs is understood and highly valued within the Council.
We use a realistic time allocation model which means that we allocate work in a fair and transparent way and maintain an achievable workload for all team members. The range of work is good and typically under a third of an EPs time is allocated to statutory and core work. There are also opportunities for EPs to both engage in, and lead, project and development work in areas of interest.
We are a values led service, and ensure that our shared values of being child-centred, inclusive, collaborative, solution-focussed, empowering and promoting equality and anti-oppressive practice, guide our thinking and actions. If your values align with ours then we would love to hear from you!

To the best of our knowledge, the adverts on this website are ‘legal, decent, honest and truthful’. Except where otherwise stated, all posts carry a salary that is at or above the nationally agreed Soulbury minimum for the post. Members should assure themselves that they are satisfied with the terms and conditions offered. Members are advised to consider fully the implications of successful applications particularly in relation to posts which would entail a move outside the UK, where legislation and cultural issues in other countries should be considered in relation to their personal circumstances. “From time to time, the AEP will carry adverts for agencies supplying EPs to local authorities. Where this is the case, we will have secured agreement from the agency that they will not supply EPs to those authorities we remain in dispute with.
