  • Somerset Council is looking for experienced and motivated Psychologists to lead and manage two of our 6 localities as Senior Educational Psychologists
  • We have positions available in different areas of Somerset
  • The positions are full-time and permanent; however part time will be considered, at a minimum of 0.8FTE
  • Salary: Soulbury B 4-7
  • Existing SPA points will be considered as well as a relocation package up to £8000
  • Generous Annual Leave of 33 days

Here’s what you’ll be doing

We’re working to improve the lives of children, young people and their families here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Working in a supportive Senior Leadership Team, with a Principal EP and Head of SEND Assessment and Review, and five other Senior EPs
  • Contributing to the management of a thriving and large service comprised of Educational Psychologists, trainee EPs and Assistant EPs – including leading a locality team
  • Working closely with SEND colleagues.
  • Providing supervision, and line management
  • Leading on specific service areas, strategic priorities or project work

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be, but it will be important for you:

  • To have substantial experience of working as an EP within a local authority context
  • To have excellent communication skills
  • To be able to lead, support and motivate a locality team
  • To be able to contribute to the strategic direction of the EPS and locality working.

All practising Educational Psychologists in the UK must be registered with the HCPC. 

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post
