Soulbury payscales 2022/23

In early June 2022, the pay and conditions of service claim was submitted by the Officers’ Side of the Soulbury Committee national negotiating body, comprising the Association of Educational Psychologists, the National Education Union and Prospect.

Pay Scales 2022-23 (Soulbury JESC 231 - Circular to employers confirming pay increase)

AEP members overwhelmingly voted to accept the offer from the employers (dated 22 November 2023), in the recent consultation.

The results of the consultation are as follows: 
Total no. votes:  1,258  
Votes to accept: 1,063 (85.5%)  
Votes to reject:   195 (15.5%) 

This decision ends the dispute with the employers, meaning industrial action ends.

What happens now?
The LGA were notified of the unions’ acceptance of the recent offer. They worked with the unions and have now released this circular to relevant local authorities. This circular contain s instructions for local authorities with regards to the new pay points and backpay. Please note that with regards to backpay, you will receive the flat rate increase of £1925 for 2022, and 4% increase backdated to 1st September 2023.

Backpay
As the circular is finalised and confirms the rights of members to claim backpay,
 we are able to provide members with a template letter to request their backpay from previous employers. Please note you will only need to apply for backpay if you have moved job.
